Compare Senior Care Options

Use this hub to move from a broad search to the specific city, cost, urgency or care question that matches your situation.

Start here: Choose the page that matches what you already know. If you are unsure what level of care to compare, use the free assessment first.

Use comparisons to eliminate the wrong category first

Families lose time when they compare individual communities before deciding what type of care is realistic. Start with the resident's needs: help with activities of daily living, cognitive supervision, overnight safety, medication support, mobility assistance, rehabilitation needs and medical complexity. Then compare the care models that can plausibly support those needs.

The comparison pages below use text tables because the important differences should be visible, searchable and easy for both people and search systems to extract. Treat the tables as a starting framework, not a substitute for a provider assessment.

Five questions that cut through sales language

Ask every provider: What specific needs can you support today? What needs would trigger a higher charge? What needs could trigger discharge? Who is physically present overnight? What would this resident's complete monthly estimate be after care charges? Those questions reveal more than a long amenity checklist.

Not sure what level of care fits?

Use the Golden Care Georgia assessment to organize care needs, budget and timing before you start calling communities.
